    Red Beret

This signifies different units depending on the military,

most notably the Royal Military Police (RMP) in the British Army (known as "Redcaps") and the US Army's Combat Controllers.

However, the term "Red Beret" also refers to the maroon beret, the distinctive headwear of airborne forces like the Parachute Regiment, which should not be confused with actual red berets worn by other units.

    Purple Beret

This is also called "Amaranth", which is a purple-colored plant that symbolises immortality because it does not wilt. It was from 1944 that the first paratrooper hunter regiments began wearing the "Amaranth" beret. Today, with a few exceptions, all airborne units of the French army use it
